As a charity representing disabled people we actively campaigned for disabled people with mobility scooters to access the Metrolink. Following our success mobility scooters that fit within the wheelchair spaces on the tram can now access Metrolink with a permit.

We provide training and assessments for those wishing to access the trams with their mobility scooter and administer the permit scheme on behalf of Metrolink.

You need to have a disabled persons bus pass, details of your scooter model, and then phone our shop to book an assessment. We make arrangements to meet you at your tram stop provide training on the tram coming into Manchester and further training is then provided in our premises. It takes around 2 hours to practice and complete the assessment and if you are successful you will be given your permit on that day.

Please note not all scooters can fit into the designated wheelchair accessible space on the tram if you are unsure if your scooter will fit, please call our office on 0161 839 4060 and press option 3.
